Experienced Sales & Purchase Ledger Accounts / Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and professional accounts assistant with previous accountancy experience, who is proficient with computers/accountancy software/excel and possesses a strong skill set with regard to accuracy and attention to detail when recording financial transactions.

Pump Supply & Repair Group was established in 1969, is based in our modern purpose built 32,000 sq ft engineering facility. Our client base extends to all sectors of industrial processes and manufacturing, and includes many ‘Blue Chip’ global organisations. Core market sectors include Oil & Gas, Nuclear & Traditional Power Generation, Pharmaceutical, Chemicals, Paper & Board, Textiles, Plastic, Utilities (Power, Water and Gas)

The role responsibilities:

Sales & purchase ledger accounts and inter-departmental administration tasks:-

  • Processing purchase invoices and statements
  • Producing payment reports, remittance advices and bank dispersals, nominal payments, petty cash & credit card procedures
  • Sales ledger invoicing, allocating S/L payments, debt chasing, cash flow forecast, bank reconciliation,
  • Month end procedures: producing and inputting journals and accruals
  • Trial balance reports – analysing, investigating and correcting
  • Associated inter-departmental office procedures, spreadsheets, word-processing, filing,
  • Assisting with various customer & supplier related tasks

Skills/qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of computerised accounts systems (ideally Pegasus Opera software)
  • Working knowledge of excel & word, plus typing & telephone skills essential
  • Work experience in a similar role – with ability to multi-task and can do attitude essential
  • ‘GCSE’ level English & Mathematics required,
  • AAT or equivalent accounting qualification desirable

The successful candidate must have the ability to multitask, work on their own initiative whilst displaying a continuous willingness to be flexible with a positive and motivated outlook. For the right candidate we are looking to develop the role covering Management account functions.

 

Hours: Mon- Thur 8.30 – 17.00       Friday 8.30 – 16.00       1 hour lunch

Location: Pump Supply and Repair Group, 3 The Furrows, Merlin Park, Trafford Park, Manchester M32 0SZ

Salary range £22,000 – £25,000 depending experience and qualifications
