Metal Stitching

Cold Metal Stitching is method of repairing cracked or broken castings which is used to carry out cold repairs to castings.

The advantage of this is that it eliminates the dangers of heating castings such as warpage, misalignment and brittleness, risks that are commonly associated with welding repairs.

Equipment that can be repaired using Metal Stitching:

  • Compressors
  • Impellers
  • Condensers
  • Pump Casings
  • Turbines
  • Engine Blocks
  • Crushers
  • Gears & Housings
  • Cylinders
What are the advantages of Metal Stitching:

  • Repairs with little or no dismantling of equipment
  • Restores strength & seals in high pressure
  • Sectional removal or replacement
  • Can be performed on site
  • None of the thermal risks associated with welding

Once metal stitched, NDT is carried out to certify the quality of the repair
