Pump Supply & Repair Group secure an order to install
a high temperature CDR Pump
| Pump Supply and Repair Group have recently won an order to solve a problem application that has so far cost the customer in excess of GBP 100,000 in pump repair bills. The company will install a high-temperature stainless-steel UTS series magnetic drive pump unit supplied by CDR Pumps to handle a product at 280C. The product crystallises at low temperature, and so a steam jacket is also being supplied, specifically around the bearing arrangement to ensure the pump has not seized on start up. |  |
| The existing pumps have suffered from damage and seizure of rotating parts as a result of the operating temperature and duty conditions, with current lifetime being as low as 3-4 weeks on a site required to operate 24/7, 365 days per year. |
| The well proven UTS series of pump is a heavy duty magnetic drive pump available in either close or long coupled configuration, capable of transmitting powers of up to 90kW, and capable of handling temperatures up to 320C. |

The design has been in manufacture for the last 12 years, and has proved to be a quality reliable pump unit for some of the most difficult applications. The pump unit will be fully ATEX certified, and will be mounted onto the new baseplate, which as standard includes eight-point adjustment for easy alignment, and rigid foundation to ensure alignment is not compromised to extend even further the extended operational life of the pumps. |

PSRG at the Races

Pump Group staff enjoyed a night at the races - we were fortunate to have a dry day and night to enjoy the "Sport of Kings". The night wasn't so dry after a number of punters were lucky with their bets. Champagne flowed as the celebrations rolled on. |

Rezitech - Flowtech Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps
Strengthening our distributorship agreement with Rezitech, for the Flowtech range of Liquid Ring Vacuum pumps, we are now able to offer Nash and Siemens equivalent pumps at a considerable cost saving.
We have recently been successful in securing an order for a 6000 series vacuum pump for a Power Station. The replacement unit has been designed and manufactured to match all the clients requirements to guarantee ease of installation and operation. Major Chemical Customer Partnership Secured
A Rotating Equipment Contract on behalf of a major chemical company in Yorkshire has recently been secured.
The contract includes re-instating manufacturers standards of build specification on all repaired equipment, detailed asset and seal tracking reports being maintained allowing analysis and an improvement of Mean Time Between Failure.
Frequent site attendance by our Account Managers and Technicians to identify and discuss plant improvements take place as part of the Contract.

Working with Original Equipment Manufacturers
PSRG work closely with many Pump OEMs, including assembly of bareshaft pumps and packaged pumpsets. PSRG also offer the OEMs the additional benefit of our Site Services Department to carry out repairs and/or installations of new pumps on site. A recent example for this was the supply of two Site Engineers for a week to carry out pump repairs and installation in the London area.
Success in Power Stations
A two year contract has been signed for the overhaul of various pumps at RWE N Power - Power Generation Site based in the South East. The contract has been won against strong competition from the Original Equipment Manufacturers and other rotating equipment repairers.
The Scope of Work includes the refurbishment of various rotating equipment and application of Energy Efficient Coatings.
Pump Supply & Repair Group has developed a total package for the customer utilising Belzona Polymeric Coatings.
Energy losses due to the effects of viscous drag and surface roughness, accentuated by erosion-corrosion effects, can be reduced by the application of a protective coating to the surfaces of fluid handling equipment. The unique hydrophobic nature of the Belzona 1341 Supermetalglide System makes water simply roll off. See the Belzona section for specific examples.

Vacuum Pump Testing
We are developing our partnership with Salford University's Commercial Enterprise Unit to improve our test procedures of Vacuum Pumps. Recently installed 'Baratron' pressure gauges provide highly accurate measurements enabling test curves to be plotted against the manufacturer's standard performance curve: our customers can be confident that their repaired pump is performing as the manufacturer intended.
Borehole
The recent expansion of Pump Supply & Repair Group Site Teams, means we have secured the services of experienced personnel in Borehole pumps.
We have for many years handled the repairs in-house, but with the purchase of new equipment and new personnel we can offer removal and installation for both repair and supply.
We have this month received an order instruction for the removal of old units and the supply of new pumps for a 6" borehole. The old units had suffered for many years from intermittent service and their operation was impeded by the pump rotating on start-up. The new installation has been supplied with a flow sleeve to protect the cable and our customer is looking forward to many years of continuous service.
