Axial Flow Pump for Water Authority

Components as Received |
A National Water Authority were recently undergoing a pump refurbishment programme across a number of their sites. Included in the specification of refurbishment programme was the preparation and coating of all the wetted components with Belzona Polymer which is approved to WRASS specification.
The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) was contracted to refurbish the equipment and selected to work in Partnership with Pump Supply & Repair Group to undertake the preparation and Belzona Application of the main components as shown below. |
The components had been immersed in sea water for some years and were entrained with sodium. All components were grit blasted to remove oxidisation and build up. Tested for salt contamination and chemical applied to remove impurities within the steel, pressure washed and repeated as required. Only after achieving the required level of cleanliness the internal surfaces were coated with Belzona 1341 (Supermetal glide) and external surfaces coated with Belzona 5811DW (Immersion grade drinking water).
